Power, Depth and Elegance

Teran Gran Reserva

Vineyard and Harvest

The vineyards of OH Wine Teran Gran Reserva are located on the rolling hills of Western Istria, at altitudes between 140 and 180 meters. The deep red Istrian soil, rich in minerals, naturally limits yield, resulting in a high concentration of tannins, color, and aromas. A warm spring and optimal rainfall distribution allowed for perfect grape ripening, while the summer conditions enhanced the development of a powerful structure and rich aromas. Yield was further reduced by “green harvest”, and 15 days before harvest, the canes were cut to dehydrate the grapes and concentrate sugars and polyphenols.

Vinification and Aging

After hand harvesting, the grapes were carefully destemmed and macerated to extract maximum color and aromas. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were carried out at controlled temperatures of 23–25°C to ensure balance between structure and complexity. The wine was then aged for 24 months in French barrique barrels, developing deep layers of flavor. Before release, it spent an additional 36 months aging in the bottle, gaining smoothness and refinement.

Characteristics and Taste

OH Wine Teran Gran Reserva captivates with its dark ruby hue and rich aromas. On the nose, intense notes of ripe cherries, chocolate, and cocoa are complemented by subtle nuances of dark berries. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with velvety tannins and a long, sophisticated finish.
