Power and Elegance of Istria

Teran Reserva

Vineyard and Harvest

The vineyards of OH Wine Teran Reserva are located on the rolling hills of Western Istria at altitudes between 140 and 180 meters. The deep red Istrian soil allows for naturally low yields, ensuring high concentration of color, tannins, and aromas. A warm spring and balanced rainfall contributed to even grape development, while the dry, sunny summer encouraged early ripening and high anthocyanin levels. Yield was further reduced by a “green harvest” to a maximum of 2 kg per vine. Hand harvest in September ensured optimal ripeness and aromatic concentration.

Vinification and Aging

The grapes were carefully destemmed and underwent maceration to extract color, tannins, and complex aromatic compounds. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occurred simultaneously at a controlled temperature of 23–25°C, creating a perfect harmony of flavors. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 18 months in French barrique barrels, further developing depth and complexity. Before release, it was bottle-aged for an additional 12 months, achieving its signature roundness and softness.

Characteristics and Taste

OH Wine Teran Reserva enchants with its intense ruby-red color and complex aromatic profile. The nose reveals rich notes of ripe cherries and dark berries, intertwined with elegant hints of dark chocolate and subtle spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rounded, and powerful, with a long, velvety finish.
