Saša Bernobić, a 33-year-old agronomist from the village of Ohnići near Vižinada, proudly claims to be the only producer in Croatia making olive oil from pitted olives. The production process of this unique olive oil involves carefully selecting each olive individually and removing the pit to obtain oil of the highest nutritional value and quality. This results in a distinct taste, aroma, and, consequently, a higher price.
Bernobić came up with the idea for this exclusive product to add value to the olive oil produced from his 1.5-hectare estate. This specialized method allows him to set a price that reaches an astonishing 1,000 kuna per liter, while 2.5 deciliters are sold for as much as 375 kuna.
